One of the things that’s unique about my newsletter is my rating system. Not only do I review books and generate thought-provoking discussions, but my proprietary ranking system makes it easy for readers to engage on another level.

I. All-time Favorite 

I am a little sentimental about this book! I have read and will read it over and over. 

II. Worth the Investment 

I liked this book well enough to buy it! I have or will refer back to and/or reread this book.

III. Worth the Read 

I am glad I read this book! It was worth the time investment. I’m not sure if I’ll read it again.

IV. Interesting…

I liked this book, and I found value in it!  Also, I probably won’t read it again. 

V. Not My Thing

This book has value, and I enjoyed some things–but it is not quite my taste. I will not read it again but recognize it might be a popular favorite of others.

VI. Not My Favorite

I didn’t like this book, but I still found value in it. I will not read it again.  

VII. Awful

Do not read this book! It was disappointing and a waste of my time and effort. I found few or no redeeming qualities.

This has to do with how mentally challenging I felt the writing was: easy and engaging? difficult and dry? I’ve rated it like a hike:
